Operating principle

No wonder they say that everything new is well forgotten old. The ancient Bible echoes this proverb: “What was, will be; and what has been done will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun ”(Ecclesiastes 1: 9). Indeed, all physical and chemical laws were invented and put into practice long before our birth, so a person can only use them for their own purposes.

So, few people know that to enhance combustion in steam locomotives and other similar units actively used in past centuries, water was used as a combustion catalyst. Remembering this feature of a publicly available liquid, some modern Kulibins came up with a simple design for a furnace, where water as fuel helps to increase the efficiency of heat transfer by tens of percent.

The fact is that when water vapor is heated to a temperature above 600 degrees, a combustible mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide is formed. In combination with oxygen, it burns remarkably and contributes to an even greater rise in temperature. This is why severe fires and high temperature fires cannot be extinguished with water or snow. On the contrary, this method contributes to an even greater flare-up.

However, if you take control of this feature of the most common liquid, you can achieve an amazing effect that helps to improve the combustion process.

The main advantages of this method are:

  1. More complete fuel combustion and less combustion waste.
  2. The absence of black smoke, respectively, less soot - a cleaner chimney.
  3. Higher combustion temperature, greater heat transfer.
  4. Excellent burning of raw firewood, no smoke at the same time.
  5. The combustion time for the same amount of fuel is almost doubled.

In this video, more about the stove on water:

It turns out that the use of a furnace design on water is much more effective than the usual option.

Installation and operation of ovens

For the safe operation of a wood-burning stove, it is necessary to install them in accordance with fire safety rules. The distance from the furnace door to the nearest wall should be at least 120 centimeters, from the walls of the stove at least half a meter. A non-combustible substrate is installed under the oven.

  • Do not use flammable liquids for kindling. Use low moisture wood and fuel pellets.
  • Clean chimneys regularly to remove soot and tar deposits.
  • Do not leave the oven unattended or install CO gas detectors with an alarm system.
  • Do not allow the use of persons who do not have the skills and knowledge of operating long-burning stoves.

When operating a long-burning stove with a water circuit, we recommend using special heat transfer fluids, not water.

DIY making

So, deciding to make a stove that runs on water, the first thing to do is determine the basic design of the future heater.

Using this method, any oven can be converted into an economy option.

Most often, such a heater is already available and it just needs to be modified. Here is a flow chart:

  1. Find a container for water and fix it.
  2. A steam generator is made.
  3. They think over its fastening and heating method in order to get steam.
  4. Make a superheater. Usually it is a thin-walled stainless steel tube with uniformly cut holes. It is wrapped with a stainless steel mesh - this device will serve as a noise damper.
  5. Think over the connection and fastening scheme of all parts. The superheater must be located on the grate of the furnace in order to have good oxygen access to it. Many people come up with additional devices so that it does not become clogged with ash and the oxygen supply is constant.
  6. Check the device for efficiency and fire safety. The absence of smoke from the chimney when the stove is on fire indicates correct operation. All rubber, wood and plastic parts of the device must be kept at a fireproof distance from fire and hot parts of the structure.

More details about the stove on water in this video:

Installing such a design can save a lot of money. In addition, as a fuel, the water in the stove reduces air pollution from combustion waste. Even the simplest way to modify the stove can lead to remarkable results.

For example, some summer residents use a water blower. That is, a metal container with water is inserted under the firebox. As a result of evaporation and heating, such a simple method turns an ordinary stove into a water one and improves its performance many times over.

Stove heating in Ukraine, as they say, is experiencing a rebirth. The reasons for this phenomenon are clear without any explanation. That is why the Kharkiv innovator Oleg Petrik suggested using the technologies of pulverized coal thermal power plants to increase the efficiency of home stoves, and for this it is not at all necessary to have the skills of an experienced locksmith.

How can the efficiency of a coal (wood) stove or solid fuel boiler be increased without the use of additional energy resources?

The principle of operation of the technology is quite simple: water from a reservoir (steam generator) turns into steam with a high temperature (400 - 500 C) and is fed directly into the flame, acting as a kind of combustion catalyst that increases the productivity of the heating installation.

Wood stove from an old boiler for heating water

Wood stove from an old boiler for heating water
If you have a garage, workshop or other similar room, you simply cannot do without such a thing as an oven. Usually these stoves are made of metal, they do not accumulate heat, but they instantly give it away as fuel is burned and allow you to quickly heat the room. Such furnaces are made from various materials, it can be thick pipes, barrels, gas cylinders, etc.
In this manual, we will look at how you can make a stove with your own hands from an old water heating boiler. Such containers usually have a metal thick enough to build a furnace out of it, and it would not burn out. You will need a little materials here, you will need a chimney and some scrap metal to create legs and other parts.

Materials and tools that the author used to make the furnace:

List of materials:

- old water heating boiler (probably gas); - a piece of chimney pipe; - steel plate for the manufacture of the gate valve; - an old gas cylinder (or a piece of sheet steel for making a door); - door hinges; - small bolts with nuts and washers for the door; - fiberglass or other similar fabric for the manufacture of the spacer; - tin can.

Tool list:

- grinder; - dremel (desirable); - drill with drills; - welding; - spanners; - hammer; - scissors; - stapler; -marker; - reciprocating saw; - roulette.

Furnace manufacturing process:

Step one. We prepare the boiler

First thing you need to do is prepare your old boiler. Any old boiler will do and it's not scary if there are already holes in it. The main thing is that the metal is more or less thick and does not burn out at high temperatures. As for the size, then here you can already choose at your discretion, the author recommends using containers with a volume of 150-200 liters.
Typically, hot water boilers are insulated for good heat retention. Of course, this insulation must be completely cleaned off. We use a knife, grinder and other available tools. The metal part will surely be painted and maybe in glue, we need to clean the whole thing down to metal. We take a grinder with grinding discs and clean the boiler to a shine. If the paint is poorly cleaned, it can be pre-burned in a fire or with a blowtorch.
At the same stage, you need to unscrew everything that can be unscrewed from the boiler. These are various fittings, taps, tubes and so on. What cannot be unscrewed can be simply cut off with a grinder.

Step two. Cut out the door

Choose a suitable place on the tank under the door through which the firewood will be loaded. Decide on its size, and then draw on the boiler using a marker. Now the door can be cut, for this purpose the author uses a grinder.

When cutting with a grinder, there is one nuance, you need to cut so that the circle rotates in the opposite direction from the direction in which you are cutting. In more detail, the author indicated this moment in the photo. In his opinion, with this approach, the grinder's cutting wheels last longer.
Step three. Cut a hole for the chimney

In the container, you need to cut a hole in accordance with the diameter of the chimney that you have. How to weld the pipe is up to you. The most important thing is that the connection is sealed and smoke does not enter the room. You can make a hole slightly larger than the diameter of the pipe, and then insert the pipe into it. And you can do the opposite, less, and weld the pipe end-to-end. In principle, a better quality seam should be obtained if the pipe is inserted into the hole.

To cut a hole in a suitable shape. The author uses a reciprocating saw for this case. First we drill a small hole for the saw blade, and then we cut out the main hole.
Step four. Cut a hole for the blower

Any stove must have a blower, thanks to this, air is supplied, which supports the combustion of the fuel. The blower is located at the bottom of the kiln, it is a long tube with holes that runs along the entire length of the kiln. The diameter of the pipe I used is 3 inches.
We cut the hole exactly as we cut it for the chimney. We drill a small hole, and then we cut out the main one with a reciprocating saw.
Step five. Blower pipe

Make a pipe for the blower, it will allow high-quality wood combustion with maximum heat release. Take the pipe along the entire length of the oven, or less, if desired, and then drill holes in them. Their order is of no particular importance, in the author's opinion. But it is better to place them at the same distance from each other for an even air supply.

At the very beginning of the pipe, drill a hole for a bolt and nut. A damper will be installed here, with which you can control the air supply and, as a result, control the intensity of combustion.
Step six. We prepare the material for the door

To make the door, you will need the part that we cut out earlier, but it will be too small, so if you put it just like that, the smoke from the oven will seep into the cracks. To make the door wider, the author donated a helium gas cylinder. Cut a square out of it that is slightly larger than the size of the door. Be sure to clean off all the paint from the cut out part, as it will start to smoke and stink when heated.

Step seven. We connect the two parts
Now you need a drill and 10 bolts and nuts. Drill 5 holes on each side of the inner part and tighten the bolts and nuts. But do not tighten too much, so there will still be a gasket.

Step eight. Gasket
To prevent smoke from passing between two sheets of metal, the author decided to install a gasket. Of course, only heat-resistant substances will go here. Fiberglass, asbestos and so on can be used. The author ruffled to use fiberglass, cut off the desired piece, and then twist it into a "cord", fixing it with a stapler. That's it, the made fiberglass cord can be installed. Lay it in a circle around the two halves of the door, and then tighten the structure using bolts and nuts. That's all, the door is ready. Its design is rather complicated, but the door will not get very hot and will not burn out.

The door can be installed. We take a drill, drill holes and fasten with door hinges. Do not forget to make a lock for the door so that it does not open spontaneously when a fire breaks out. You will also need to come up with a door handle that doesn't get too hot. The author decided to use a glass handle.

Step nine. The final stage of assembly
There will probably be a lot of extra holes on the tank that will need to be plugged. They can either be brewed or made as the author does. We take metal plates, the parts cut earlier are also suitable, we drill holes in them, and then fasten them with bolts and nuts.

Make simple grates for your stove by welding them from rebar.

Weld the chimney as well as the blower pipe into place. That's all, the oven can now be tested. You need to mount it on a fireproof support or weld on the legs, as the metal gets very hot.

Step ten. How to use?

Open the door and load the wood into the oven, then close it. We take a lighter or matches and set fire to the wood through the hole that was used in the boiler instead of the hood. Then, when the wood fires up, this hole must be closed; for these purposes, we use a tin can and a bolt or nail. If you wish, you can equip a door here. Do not forget to open the blower shutter after that.
It is best to light the oven for the first time outdoors if you suspect that the paint is poorly cleaned from the surface. If the oven works, congratulations! As aesthetics, you can paint it with heat resistant paint. In addition to the aesthetics, the paint will protect the metal from rust. Source

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:

A self-regulating amount of water is supplied to the hydrogen generator through a tube, which, passing through a transducer made of natural material, is saturated with molecular hydrogen and, together with hot air (pulses), is fed into the furnace firebox under glowing coals. The coals begin to burn brightly and give off heat, while not turning to ash for a long time.

In fact, "MIRACLE MEMBRANE No. 01" is an analogue of a wax candle, where the role of wax is played by water, and the coals of burning wood are a wick.

"MIRACLE MEMBRANE No. 01" is completely safe, since the water in the tubes is a water seal, prevents the penetration of oxygen from the air and the formation of an explosive gas.

"MIRACLE MEMBRANE No. 01" can be used in gas furnaces, hydrogen water must be supplied to the iron plate heated by a gas burner.

The power of MIRACLE MEMBRANE No. 01 can be calculated for use in industrial furnaces.

Get acquainted with the new invention "MIRACLE MEMBRANE No. 02" The principle of operation is based on the newly discovered phenomenon of water properties: - ignition of supercooled humid air when it passes through hot coals.

In ancient Arkaim, our ancestors melted metal with the help of humid air. In the furnace of the furnace, the temperature rose to 1500 degrees C. To achieve such temperatures, they passed humid air from the well through the reactor and fed it to the furnace of the furnace.

In Miracle Membrane No. 02, moist air, passing through the reactor, is converted into “water gas” and, after passing through hot coals, ignites. This explains the savings in firewood. "Water gas" burns and gives heat, and the coals of the wood are a wick (analogue of a candle).

Using our technology, you can make the Miracle Membrane No. 02 yourself and get real savings in fuel by 50% due to the increase in the temperature of coal combustion!
