For any bathhouse, the stove is its central element and is its "heart" in the entire structure. In order for the rest in the bath to be relaxing and comfortable, the stove must be of high quality, since it directly affects the atmosphere created. The best option for an unforgettable experience is the Harvia sauna stove.

Why a Harvia sauna stove?

The advantages that each Harvia model has are obvious: these structures are surprisingly durable, they warm up quickly and retain heat for a long time, which saves fuel. They are also easy to install and use, and only high-quality and non-toxic materials are used in their manufacture. A carefully thought-out design and original technologies ensure optimal operation of the heaters: they do not overheat and at the same time do not cool down ahead of time, maintaining the desired temperature in the steam room. In addition, the ideal air circulation in the stoves makes the microclimate in the sauna as comfortable as possible for a person. A wide range of models will allow any buyer to choose exactly what he needs.

Some people will like the modest size and power of Harvia wood-burning stoves for baths, which give an indescribable charm to a home sauna, while others will choose a heavy-duty heater for heating a large and spacious public sauna. The wide price range makes Harvia equipment affordable for any wallet.

It is impossible not to mention the appearance of Harvey's equipment. The company's designers are justly proud of their developments: the stoves look very attractive thanks to their elegant design. At the same time, the external beauty of this equipment is successfully combined with their functionality. And thanks to the treatment of some Harvia oven models with a special refractory paint, they retain their great appearance for many years after the purchase.

Floor-standing electric sauna heater Harvia Profi L20 (18-30 m3, 20 kW) (without control panel)

Manufacturer: Harvia, Finland

Model: Profi L20

Vendor code: HRL200400

Floor-standing electric sauna heater Harvia Profi L20 (18-30 m3, 20 kW) (without control panel) - designed for installation in large saunas. The heater is suitable for both family and public saunas. The power of the stove allows it to be installed in large saunas of expensive hotels, fitness clubs, spas, resorts and health centers. The heater heats up the entire steam room quickly and evenly. This model is designed for intensive use, which allows the stove to heat a steam room with a volume of up to 30 m3 throughout the day.

The heater is controlled by the Harvia C-260 remote control (purchased separately), which consists of a control unit, a power unit and a thermostat. The remote control is installed in a dry place outside the steam room (for example, in the dressing room). A temperature sensor is connected to the control panel, with the help of which the selected temperature is maintained in the sauna.

The sensor and the overheating protection device are housed in a special box that is installed above the heater. If the temperature in the sauna rises too high, the fuse is triggered and the heating elements are automatically turned off. The main reasons for overheating are: too densely packed stones, improper installation of the stove, poor ventilation.

The oven is turned on by pressing the button on the control panel. The heater will then operate for the time you programmed and then automatically switch off (if not manually switched off earlier). A delayed start of turning on the furnace is also possible. This means that the oven will start working by itself after the time you have set. For example, if you go on a three-hour walk and want to take a steam bath after it, you need to select the "delayed start" mode and set the number "2" on the display. This means that after two hours the heater will automatically switch on and start heating up. The heating time for the sauna is approximately one hour. Thus, the sauna will be ready for steam in three hours.

The stove is fixed to the floor by two legs. Since the sauna heater gets very hot during operation, it is recommended to use a protective fence to avoid accidental contact with hot surfaces. This model is not intended for niche installation.

An example of the correct placement of stones in an electric oven Harvia Profi L20:

Stones with a diameter of 4-8 cm are suitable for the stove. Only stones specially designed for this purpose may be placed in the stove. In this case, the stones must completely cover the heating elements, but without creating slides. The stones are stacked neatly and not very tightly so as not to obstruct the air circulation in the oven. If large stones do not fit between the heating elements, do not use force to squeeze them. Lightweight, porous and ceramic stones of the same size must not be used. It is forbidden to turn on the stove without stones. This could lead to a fire.

The Legend series is the legend of the sauna stove market!

Harvia company produces wood-burning stoves for baths and electric stoves, as well as various equipment: steam generators, fireplaces, chimneys and more. But it was a high-end wood-burning sauna stove like Harvia Legend that brought the Finnish manufacturer the real fame. And this is not surprising, because the Harvia Legend oven is not only extremely attractive in appearance, but also economical, convenient to use and environmentally friendly. A visit to a sauna equipped with such equipment leaves unforgettable memories.

Harvia wood burning stoves

The Harvia Legend wood-burning stove is a mesh stove, a distinctive feature of which is the presence of a large volume of stones capable of radiating softer heat. Such a stove is ideal for saunas, in which the required temperature is generated in one to two hours in summer.

The manufacturer is famous precisely for the fact that his models have such a design that allows them to achieve excellent performance of the movement of air flows. Because of this, many complain - they say that the oven heats up too quickly, thereby drying out the air. However, the oven was created for such purposes.

If you are going to install a wood-burning stove harvia for a bath, more precisely, for a Russian bath, then you cannot do without the construction of a brick screen to soften and accumulate heat. To speed up the process of heating stones, you can use a coarse fraction, spreading them infrequently, allowing air flows to circulate freely.

People who understand the intricacies of the Russian bath advise when laying stones in any of the Harvia stove models (Legend 240 Duo, Legend 300, Legend 150) to insert steel pipes to supply hot stones with water. Thus, the steam will be light and warm enough. If you apply water to the stones in the usual way, then the resulting steam will come out heavy and wet. The situation will be partially improved by the supply of water to the net from the side - thanks to a small layer of stones, steam is released on dry land.

The Harvia wood-burning stove is produced in several variations for steam rooms with different internal volumes. All modifications are equipped with a remote firebox, made of heat-resistant steels and have a protective coating in the form of a thick layer of paint. The Duo models have a wide glass door, which makes it possible to observe the fire, thereby, to some extent, combining the stove with a fireplace. In general, the wood-fired fireplace stove is increasingly used. The peculiarity of the glass used is that soot does not accumulate on it, that is, it always remains clean.

Harvia 20 Duo and 36 Duo are varieties of sauna stoves from 8-20 m3 - the first model, and up to 14-36 m3 - the second. They are also equipped with a remote type of firebox, a large door, glass with refractory properties. There is a function of completing the furnace with a hinged stainless steel water tank. According to reviews, Harvia 20 Duo stoves are capable of heating a 6.8 m3 steam room to 100 ° C in 40-50 minutes, when it is warm outside, and thick 10 mm steel on top of the stove does not change its shape when heated.

We put the stove and make a chimney: the perfect scheme for Harvia

Before installing the Harvia stove, you need to melt it well - even outside. The fact is that the first half hour will burn out conservation grease and special black paint, which becomes even more durable after the first heat treatment. And if for the first time the stove is flooded in the bath, then it will take a long time to ventilate. Therefore, those photographs where the stove smokes right in front of the bathhouse, in the middle of the garden, should not be surprising.

Compared to other sauna stoves, Harvia can be placed a little closer to the wall and other objects than is usually allowed - all thanks to its housing. But, in any case, the distance from the stove to the nearest combustible material is at least 50 cm.

Brick screen

It is necessary to pour a slab under the stove, and put a brick screen - if it is erected up to the ceiling itself, then there is no need for additional protection of the walls. And even better for Harvia stoves to build not only a screen, but also a whole brickwork in a pre-cut section of the wall - it will carry both the chimney and the console. And for greater reliability, the brickwork itself can be reinforced with buttresses.

Installation in a sauna oven Harvia

Now we are making the foundation for the sauna stove: formwork is placed, a reinforcing masonry mesh is laid and everything is poured with mortar.

Chimney assembly and connection

Next, a ceiling passage is mounted - 64x64 cm, between the wooden beams. It must be located so that the distance to the structures to be combusted remains at least 250 mm with protection - this is according to the norms.

The pie from the beams to the pipe is as follows: Rockwool foil (130 mm) + foil + minerite on a metal frame + expanded clay. The next step is to lay the ventilation boxes and the ceiling of the steam room is completely insulated.

Installing the Harvia oven

Many argue about which pipe should be taken for Harvia sauna stoves. Someone advises Ermak, someone is satisfied with the brand - the same brand as the oven.

It is only important to remember that Harvia chimneys are expensive and are made of food-grade ceramics, which, of course, is durable, but not very practical if a fire breaks out. Therefore, for now, most experienced bath attendants agree that the most suitable chimney for the Harvia stove is the "Volcano". And it is better to implement the supply and drainage of water to the heat exchanger with a corrugated tube.

Making a chimney for Harvey

A little tip: during the installation of a stainless steel pipe, the connection of ceramic and steel pipes must be sealed with a special tape on a ceramic fiber, and a heat-resistant sealant must be applied on top. Then no condensation will occur. Also, before installing the main protection, the box for the passage of the pipe must be sewn up at the bottom with a sheet of minerite, with a pre-cut for the pipe. And already in the box itself - fill in small expanded clay. If it is necessary in the future to inspect and clean the stove chimney, one of the two pipes will need to be removed, while the second, which leads to the ceramic block, will remain fixed. For the convenience of the whole process, the first pipe can be brought deeper into the chimney - this way it will be easier to remove the one that is attached to the nozzle of the sauna stove.

So, if everything is done technologically correctly, the brand new Harvia will delight you with soft steam, good heat and good work for many years to come. After all, this is quality in Finnish!
